Splendid oil painting on canvas depicting a coastal view of the north of France (Normandy). The work captures with extraordinary mastery the atmospheric light and the rendering of the sky typical of the en plein air painting of the second half of the nineteenth century.

Stile e Qualità: The painting technique, characterized by a vibrant, tactile brushstroke and touches of white lead in the reflections on the water, shows an execution quality closely approaching the greatest masters of French Pre-Impressionism.
La Firma: The work bears an era signature in the lower corner. A distinctive script of the initial stands out, making the painting an object of extreme interest for scholars, appraisers and collectors of Norman coastal painting.
