Raleigh - Tourist - Bicycle - 1979

For sale: a 1979 Raleigh Tourist men’s bike (DL-1 model), manufactured in Nottingham, England. A genuine vintage bicycle from its era, preserved in good condition, perfectly functional and unrestored.

Technical features and components:

Frame: Men’s model (straight top tube), 58 cm height (measured from the seat tube). Fully original steel, including a closed chain guard and full-wrap fenders. The original Raleigh stamps and decals are clearly visible on the frame tube, chain guard, fenders, and vintage bell.

Brakes: Original rod brake system, in perfect working order.

Gearing: 3-speed Sturmey-Archer rear hub with an internal gear mechanism (hubs bears the year “79”).

Seat and accessories: Original leather saddle from the period, complete with the original rear tool pouch.

Wheels: Steel rims, English sizing 28 x 1 1/2 (ISO 635).

Bike and component wear status:
The mechanics and gearing are smooth. The paint and chrome display a wonderful original patina and normal signs of age, with no structural damage or rust.

Wear parts condition: Overall wear state is excellent. The tires, brake pads, chain, and grips are in excellent condition and ready to use, reflecting the long-term good conservation of the bike.
