Cypraecassis rufa, also known as the red helmet or "Bullmouth Helmet", is a large mollusk found in the Indo-Pacific.

It is famous for its massive, thick, and colorful shell (red-orange/brown), historically used for cameo carving.

It is therefore a shell collected mainly for decorative or jewelry purposes.

This specimen measures 14 x 9 cm.

The overall condition is good.
