The SU-V450 belongs to one of Technics' most successful generations of stereo amplifiers. During the 1980s, Technics invested heavily in amplifier research and development, resulting in the introduction of its innovative Class AA technology.

Class AA technology was developed to combine the low-distortion characteristics associated with Class A amplification with the efficiency and output capability of conventional amplifier designs.
