Description from the seller
The Dual CS 704 is a high-quality turntable with direct drive from the late 1970s (approximately 1976–1979), featuring an electronically controlled EDS motor that provides an exceptionally stable speed and smooth operation. The medium-weight tonearm is height-adjustable. This allows the vertical tracking angle (VTA) to be adjusted for different cartridges or records of varying thickness – such as shellac records. This ensures an optimal position of the stylus in the record groove, which can improve sound quality.
The unit is equipped with a Dual DMS 210 cartridge, delivering a warm and clear sound. Alternatively, the Shure V15 Type III can also be used – one of the leading hi-fi cartridges of the 1970s. Additionally, using a Shure VN78E stylus enables playback of shellac records (78 RPM); to do this, set the turntable’s speed selector to 78 RPM (see user manual).
The turntable also features gold-plated RCA connectors to ensure a reliable signal transmission.
The unit is supplied complete with the original operating manual and further original documentation.
