Cornelis Raaphorst (1875-1954) - Moederpoes en drie spelende kittens

The painter Cornelis Raaphorst was born in 1875 in Nieuwkoop. He lived and worked for the most part of his life mainly in Wassenaar. Raaphorst painted – like Henriëtte Ronner Knip – young playful kittens as his preferred subject. He often depicted them with colorful draperies or musical instruments. He died in 1954 in Wassenaar.

The listed measurements are with the frame; the canvas measures 49 x 39 cm.
