Paul Arntzenius
A charming and atmospheric rural scene by Dutch painter Paul Arntzenius (1883–1965), depicting a traditional farmyard with chickens in front of a countryside hoeve. The composition is executed in a lively and painterly manner, with warm earthy tones and an excellent sense of light and atmosphere.
Arntzenius was known for his impressionistic approach to landscape and rural subjects, capturing everyday Dutch life with great sensitivity and spontaneity. Works of this type are appreciated for their decorative quality and authentic Dutch character.
The painting is signed lower right: “Paul Arntzenius”.
