Very well-preserved jaw fragment of an adult mosasaur, as the imposing teeth clearly show.
On the side you can see a new tooth that would have grown in – typical for mosasaurs, which possessed a so-called revolver dentition, where teeth were continuously replaced.
The top predators of the ancient world were estimated by experts to reach a length of about 17 meters when grown.
A specimen of this quality and size is the highlight in any collection!

Information about the dinosaur:
Mosasaurs lived in the sea and were carnivorous reptiles, with a skull that could be wider or narrower depending on the species. They were equipped with robust jaws, as well as large teeth and strong muscles that enabled a very powerful bite; their four limbs were shaped into paddles to steer the animal underwater.
They gained particular fame from the films Jurassic Park & Jurassic World.
