Hand-carved wooden mask from Congo in traditional Songye/Kifwebe style. Beautiful aged appearance with a ribbed texture, white-pigmented eyes, and a fine patina.

Bought at the famous Saint-Ouen antique market in Paris. Probably mid/late 20th century and made for export/the art market, but clearly of good quality.

A very decorative piece for tribal, ethnographic, or modern interiors.

Handgesneden houten masker uit Congo in traditionele Songye/Kifwebe-stijl. Mooie oude uitstraling met ribbelstructuur, wit gepigmenteerde ogen en fraaie patina.

Gekocht op de beroemde antiekmarkt Saint-Ouen in Parijs. Waarschijnlijk midden/late 20e eeuw en gemaakt voor export/de kunstmarkt, maar duidelijk van goede kwaliteit.

Erg decoratief object voor tribal, etnografisch of modern interieur.
