Description from the seller

Luciano Torsi
(Arezzo, 1937 – Livorno 2024)
“Tuscan Countryside”
Oil on canvas, 35x50 cm, work executed in 1995.
Torsi is a painter who has managed to capture the public’s attention with his paintings, rich in feeling energized by colors but above all by the heart. In his paintings one senses the scent of the seasons; one is enchanted by his streams that pour forth water, and the reflections, perfectly distributed, breathe life into the subject, creating a real landscape almost forgotten by the frenzy of the present.
The “painter of the woods” and of the “small villages,” as Luciano Torsi has been defined, easy to appeal to the generalized tastes of the public, with his landscapes, his “woods,” the streams, the flowery meadows full of light and color, has established himself before the public, occupying in homes that corner of familiarity that now seems almost necessary and indispensable.
They have written about him: Renato Natali, Loriano Domenici, Salvatore Amodei, Bruno Damari, Mauro Barbieri, Luciano Bonetti. Many journalistic outlets have covered his painting with important reviews, starting from “La Nazione,” to “Il Telegrafo” and to “Il Tirreno.”
