Edwardh Stockwell - Inkwell - .925 silver

Inkstand in 925 silver produced by silversmith Edwadh Stockwell in 1891 in London.
It has a rectangular shape with guilloché decoration across the entire surface.
The closure hook is in 18 K hallmarked gold, a relatively uncommon item.
Inside it there is kept a small fragment that probably serves an airtight seal, but I can’t seem to fit it.
The hinges are perfect and the lid closure works perfectly.
On the top of the inkwell is engraved "Clark 20 old bond st.", which is the London street where Christie's, Sotheby's and Bonhams are headquartered.
