Yamaha TC-511S cassette deck from 1978, in good physical condition and tested and working, weighing about 8 kg.
Description from the seller
A fine Yamaha TC-511S cassette recorder from Yamaha's renowned Natural Sound series.
This model was produced between 1978 and 1980 and belongs to the first generation of high-quality Japanese front-loading cassette decks. The combination of the silver-colored aluminium front, the analog VU meters and the solid build quality makes this a popular model among vintage audio collectors.
The TC-511S is built in Japan and features a sturdy 2-head mechanism, Dolby B noise reduction and support for Type I, FeCr and CrO₂ tapes. Thanks to the precise drive and the high-quality Yamaha construction, the deck delivers a warm, natural sound that fits perfectly with classic analog recordings.
On vintage audio forums the TC-511S is regularly praised for its reliability, attractive design and musical sound character. An owner described it as: "great sound, very good lows" and praised the exceptional build quality that still impresses after more than 45 years.
The cassette deck needs some love and attention; it plays but not completely cleanly.
A good cleaning won't hurt.
