ENZO LENZI
Born in Livorno in 1942, he was a self-taught artist with rare sensibility. He began his artistic path with the encouragement of the master Farina, of whom he was a pupil in the early years. His beginnings were tied to small-scale works, but over time his painting became more bold, heavier, evolving toward an informal, colorful, and material style, the fruit of continuous personal experimentation. In the last two or three years his style had increasingly shifted toward color. A skilled artist who over time learned to transform himself, taking on his own identity.
In his artistic catalog you find, mainly depicting nature, landscapes in which he had distinguished himself over time and earned much appreciation from the public and critics: “Vendemmia” (Harvest), “Gregge al pascolo” (Flock at Grazing), “Nella vigna” (In the Vineyard), “Pescatori” (Fishermen), “Maremma con bufali” (Maremma with Buffaloes), “Barche in secca” (Boats on the Shoal), “Campagna” (Countryside) and “Controluce” (Backlight) are among the titles.
He exhibited with the Gruppo Labronico, as noted about him on the specialized website “Jansonius Art Gallery,” which publishes some of his most prestigious works ...... "possessing notable gifts and a Franciscan humility that set him apart from many colleagues characterized by a desire to appear and perform before the public, yet thanks to his somewhat introverted and contemplative character, he could deeply perceive even the simple things of life, portraying them with his brush in a masterfully revalued way on canvas.
Painting that “feels” the post-Macchiaioli (as much of the painting of Labronico artists) and heightens colors with vigorous brushstrokes.
Lenzi, who as a five-year-old already drew with mastery, boasted many solo and group artistic exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad.
