Large handmade brutalist copper candle holder from Germany, dating to the 1960s–1970s, in very good vintage condition with natural patina.
Description from the seller
Large brutalist candlestick made from hammered copper – handmade artistic piece – Europe, 60s/70s.
Impressive, sculptural candlestick handcrafted from hammered copper. The monumental form, about 70 cm tall, makes the object serve not only a functional purpose but also a decorative one – as a standalone interior sculpture.
The design adheres to the aesthetics of European brutalism. Dynamic, organic elements resembling petals or leaves were hand-formed and hammered, creating an impressive play of light on the metal surface. The central shaft is crowned with a wide bowl featuring a spike intended for mounting a column candle.
The item stands out for its high quality handmade execution and an exceptional form not found in mass production. It blends perfectly with modernist, brutalist, loft interiors and XXth century applied arts collections.
Condition: very good vintage condition, natural patina and minor signs of use in keeping with the item’s age.
