La Coupe du Silence
In this work, the artist builds a composition of strong poetic concentration, where the figure, the still life and the interior architecture seem to merge into a single symbolic structure. The image is not offered as a narrative scene in the strict sense, but as a space of visual relationships in which each form appears to contain its own resonance. The face, the cup, the fruits and the circular motifs coexist within an order carefully tensioned between balance and vibrancy.
The composition develops from a contemporary cubist language, articulated through fragmented planes, enveloping curves and color contrasts that organize the surface with great intensity. Deep blues, turquoises, pinks, yellows and blacks build a refined atmosphere, where light seems to emerge from within the painting. The spirals, present at different points of the work, introduce a visual cadence that suggests movement, memory and symbolic depth.
The central figure does not appear as a closed portrait, but as a presence transformed by the rhythm of the composition. Its profile seems to emerge from among objects and signs, as if identity is constructed here through form rather than description. The cup and the fruits broaden the reading toward the territory of the still life, but far from literalness: they function as elements of pause, contemplation and intimate ceremony.
La Coupe du Silence dialogues with the tradition of cubism, the modern interior and still life, but from a fully contemporary sensibility. It is an elegant, magnetic and deeply visual work, where the artist transforms objects and the figure into a structure of resonances, balance and mystery.
