Large wooden candle stand / pillar-shaped candelabrum – classic model

An impressive solid wood candle stand with a monumental appearance. This decorative object is finished in a classic pillar form and beautifully turned on the lathe, causing the various rings and curves to create a rich play of lines and shadows.

Candelabras are among the oldest forms of lighting and were used for centuries to hold candles upright before electricity became widely available. Today they are mainly valued as atmospheric and decorative objects in the interior.

This specimen has a distinctive character: the sturdy, stepwise built base and the turned column give the piece a stately look reminiscent of classical interior pieces and architectural columns. The warm wood color and fine grain also make the whole very decorative.

Special detail
At the bottom there is a small hole. This indicates that the stand was probably used in the past as a lamp base. This is common with wooden decorative stands that were later adapted for electric lighting. The hole is small and barely visible when the piece is displayed (see photo) and does not detract from the decorative appearance.

Condition
Good antique condition with signs of use appropriate to age. The wood has a lovely deep color and natural patina. The small hole at the bottom (former cable passage) is visible but not intrusive.
