Sculpture, Santa Rita - 26 cm - Plaster - 1915

A fascinating and rare object of sacred art and popular devotion from the beginning of the 20th century.
The piece depicts a religious figure, Saint Rita, in the context of private devotion, captured in a moment of deep and intense prayer.
The figure is kneeling before a kneeler/altar topped by a small metal crucifix, with hands joined to the chest and eyes turned upward, expressing strong emotional and spiritual pathos.
Around the neck and between the folds of the dark garment hangs the classic rosary, finished in meticulous detail.
