Splendid Empire-style bouillotte lamp in finely chiseled bronze with three lights dating from the late 19th century.
Its metal lampshade with a hand-painted gilt decoration is original, and its height is adjustable.
Originally, this lamp was designed as an accessory for a card game, from which it takes its name: bouillotte. The "bouillotte game" was popular in France, notably during the French Revolution, a French card game that appeared in the 18th century and based on the brelan.
