Yashica Electro 35 GSN + Color-Yashinon DX 45mm 1:1.7 (Working / Tested)

A classic 1970s silver Yashica Electro 35 GSN rangefinder compact camera with its original fixed Color-Yashinon DX 45mm f/1.7 lens. With its bright f/1.7 large-aperture lens and Yashica’s aperture-priority electronic shutter AE system, this is one of the most popular and well-known Japanese fixed-lens rangefinder compact cameras of its era. The Electro 35 series is still highly regarded by collectors and film photographers today, especially for its strong low-light performance.

Appearance:
The chrome top plate and black leatherette covering are in good condition for a vintage camera of this age. There is minor cosmetic wear from normal use, but no major dents, leatherette peeling, or serious damage. Please refer to the photos for the exact cosmetic condition.

Function:
Tested and confirmed working. The shutter fires correctly.
35mm film rangefinder compact camera with aperture-priority automatic exposure (AE), electronic stepless shutter (approx. 30 sec – 1/500 sec), and battery-check function. Equipped with film advance lever, shutter release button, aperture ring, coupled rangefinder focusing ring, viewfinder window, SLOW / OVER exposure warning indicators, and a hot shoe.

As this is a vintage item, long-term performance and full functionality cannot be guaranteed. For guaranteed shooting condition, a service/CLA at a specialist is recommended.

Optical system:
The Color-Yashinon DX 45mm f/1.7 lens shows no obvious fungus, balsam separation, or major scratches in the photos. There may be a small amount of fine dust typical for its age, but no defects that would significantly affect shooting are visible.

Battery information:
This camera was originally designed for a 5.6V mercury battery (PX32), which is no longer in production. It can be used with modern replacements such as a 4LR44 / 4SR44 with an adapter, or a PX32A 6V alkaline battery. The battery is not included.
