Nikon EL2 + Nikkor-H・C Auto 50mm 1:2 — Working 35mm SLR with Aperture-Priority AE

A working Nikon EL2 black-body 35mm SLR with the classic Nikkor-H・C Auto 50mm f/2 standard lens. The EL2 was Nikon's top-of-the-line aperture-priority AE camera introduced in 1977, and is the direct predecessor of the Nikon FE. Mechanical operations have been confirmed to work correctly.

Appearance:
Vintage cosmetic wear consistent with age. Some paint loss / brassing on the edges of the top plate and around the strap lugs (typical for black-painted Nikon bodies of this era). Leatherette is intact with no peeling. Lens barrel shows light use marks only — no dents or deep scratches.

Function:
35mm SLR film camera with electronically controlled vertical-travel metal focal-plane shutter, aperture-priority AE, full manual override (B, 4 s – 1/1000 s), and Ai-coupling meter system.

- Mirror / pentaprism: clean, no fungus or haze in finder

Battery note:
The Nikon EL2 uses one 6 V battery (4LR44 / 4SR44 / PX28, commonly available). Battery is not included — please prepare one separately. The camera's metering and shutter timing rely on the battery; without a battery only the mechanical backup speed (1/90 s, marked "M90" / B) can be used.

Optical system (lens):
Nikkor-H・C Auto 50mm 1:2 (multi-coated "C" version), serial 2214979, 52 mm filter thread. Optics are clear — no fungus, no haze, no balsam separation, and no major scratches visible. A small amount of dust may be present but does not affect image quality. Aperture blades are clean and snappy, aperture ring and focus ring both move smoothly.

Shutter / film chamber:
Metal focal-plane shutter curtain appears clean and free of dents. The film chamber and pressure plate are clean overall.

Please refer to the photos for the exact condition and accessories. As this is a vintage camera, occasional servicing (CLA) is recommended for long-term reliable use.
