Nikon FE Black + MD-12 Motor Drive — Working Aperture-Priority 35mm SLR

A working Nikon FE black-body 35mm SLR with the matching Nikon MD-12 motor drive (3.5 fps) already attached. The FE (1978–1983) is one of Nikon's most beloved compact aperture-priority SLRs and a direct successor to the EL2 / FM. Combined with the MD-12, this body becomes a fully featured rapid-shooting SLR system ready for film photography.

Appearance:
Vintage cosmetic wear consistent with age. Some paint loss / brassing on the edges of the top plate and corners (typical for black-painted FE bodies of this era). Leatherette and the rubber grip on the motor drive are intact with no peeling. No major dents or serious damage.

Function:
35mm SLR film camera with electronically controlled vertical-travel metal focal-plane shutter, aperture-priority AE, full manual override (B, 8 s – 1/1000 s), and Ai-coupling meter system. Equipped with Nikon F mount (Ai).
- Shutter: fires correctly (confirmed)
- Film advance lever: operates (confirmed)

- Aperture-priority "A" mode: present
- Self-timer: present
- ASA dial: 12 – 3200, operates
- Mirror / pentaprism: clean, no fungus or haze in finder

- MD-12 motor drive: mounts correctly to body, ON/OFF switch operates; full motor operation has not been verified without fresh batteries
- Mechanical backup speed (M90 / B): available without battery

Battery note:
- The Nikon FE uses two 1.55 V silver-oxide button batteries (SR44 ×2) or one 3 V lithium battery (CR-1/3N), all commonly available today. The electronic shutter relies on the battery for most speeds; only M90 (1/90 s) and B can be used mechanically without a battery.
- The MD-12 motor drive uses eight AA batteries (loaded in the grip section).
- Batteries are not included for either unit; please prepare them separately.

Shutter / film chamber:
Metal focal-plane shutter blades appear clean and free of dents. The film chamber and pressure plate are clean overall.

Notes:
Please refer to the photos for the exact condition and accessories. As this is a vintage camera, occasional servicing (CLA) is recommended for long-term reliable use. Lens shown in some photos is NOT included in this auction.
