Ancient Box Lock – Provenance Palazzo Mazzarosa (Lucca)
Splendid antique box lock (for mounting) in wrought iron, dating from the late 19th/early 20th century. The item is not just a piece of vintage hardware, but a fragment of local history: it originates from the historic Palazzo Mazzarosa of Lucca, home to one of the city's most illustrious noble families.
Main features:
• Dimensions: Length 20 cm x Height 13 cm.
• Condition: Fully functional in every mechanical part.
• Completeness: The item is sold complete with its original female barrell key and the corresponding recessed locking sleeve (escutcheon).
• Details: The internal mechanism features elegant shaped work typical of high-quality craftsmanship of the period.
Conditions:
The lock preserves its splendid original patina, a sign of time that attests to its authenticity. It has been carefully preserved and shows no structural damage or deep oxidation.
