Heilig Objects - Wardrobe (6) - Oak - SALEM Clothing Rack

SALEM - Unique Coat Stand Collectible Design Coat Stand from the Compagnons de Vie Collection SALEM is a sculptural coat stand created from materials marked by centuries of history. Its foundation consists of an original oak board salvaged from a former monastery dormitory, where rows of simple oak beds once served generations of monks. Hidden within one of these beds, five hand-coloured tarot cards dating from the 17th century were discovered, adding an unexpected layer of mystery to the material's provenance. The historic oak was carefully preserved in its original condition. Traces of age, use and woodworm activity remain visible, while the grain was reawakened through meticulous restoration and linseed oil treatment. Rising from the ancient timber is a curved frame of untreated tubular steel, rolled at high temperature and handcrafted in Germany. Oxidized cast-iron connectors, cast-iron feet and two integrated coat hooks complete the composition, creating a dialogue between raw industrial material and centuries-old wood. The curved steel frame offers generous hanging space for garments, while the two coat hooks provide additional functionality for accessories, bags or hats. The historic oak base can also serve as a resting surface for personal belongings, transforming SALEM into both a practical organizational piece and a sculptural presence within the room. Part functional object and part sculpture, SALEM embodies the philosophy of Daniel Heilig's Compagnons de Vie collection: preserving the soul and history of extraordinary materials while giving them a new significance and contemporary purpose. Handcrafted in Germany. Limited edition of 6 pieces per version. Certificate of Authenticity included. Materials
