Up to and including page 61, the text from this little book was published in 1922 as a series of articles in the magazine FOCUS. Thereafter it was decided that the sequel would take up too much space in the magazine, and this historical overview of color photography, which is supplemented with practical instructions, was issued as a booklet in 1923.

In this fairly rare little book, the state of color photography in 1946 is explained clearly, both in theory and in practice.

Strictly speaking, this handbook for coloring photographs with Talens photo-oil paint is not a book about color photography, because it concerns coloring black-and-white photographs. How to do it is described in detail.
