Description from the seller
Elegant Cup in Antique Yellow Marble – 19th Century – Turned and Hand-Sculpted Work
Refined decorative cup in antique yellow marble, made in the 19th century and characterized by workmanship entirely carried out by hand. The object features a classic hemispherical chalice shape supported by a turned foot and a square base, recalling neoclassical designs highly appreciated in 19th-century European interiors.
The marble used stands out for its splendid warm tones ranging from honey to golden yellow, traversed by suggestive gray-brown veining that gives each surface its own uniqueness. The outer rim is embellished with rich bead molding and hand-carved foliate motifs, an element that adds movement and depth to the whole.
The work preserves the typical traces of traditional lathe work and retains all the charm of ancient natural stone. Thanks to its harmonious proportions and the quality of the material, it is perfectly suited as a centerpiece, an entryway catchall tray, a potpourri holder, or an elegant decorative element for both classic and contemporary interiors.
Dimensions: height 10 cm; diameter 15.5 cm.
Condition: very good for its age. Normal and physiological signs of time are present, with small superficial wear and slight imperfections compatible with more than a century of life of the piece. The marble is structurally sound and stable.
Our interior design expert advises: perfect on an antique wooden console, a classic bookshelf, or as a decorative element on tables and desks, where the warm tones of the marble subtly enhance the room with quiet elegance.
Photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to professionals in the field.
