Description from the seller

Thonet café chair with original patina and decorative seat – ca. 1900-1920

An authentic Thonet bentwood chair from the early 20th century, featuring a distinctive decorative seat with a fan or shell motif.

The chair still bears an original Thonet stamp and remnants of the original factory label. Over its long life the chair has been repainted several times. During careful cleaning, several historical layers of paint emerged, creating a very characterful and unique patina.

The red color, combined with visible older layers and the decorative seat, gives the chair a look that fits perfectly within wabi-sabi, vintage/brocante, country, industrial, and eclectic interiors.

The construction is crafted in the characteristic bent beechwood for which Thonet is worldwide known.
