Description from the seller
The work represents one of the few remaining pieces from the years 2012-2013 in a style with lighter, more liquid color and a theme that often describes a feminine world where symbols intertwine with gesturality that reveals and deepens the theme of ties and belonging to the earth.
The two girls are as if they were swimming among the fish, but it can also appear more as an ancient magma. Although they are in the water, one can perceive the weight of the bodies to bring the viewer back to reality and to carnality, to a body that also bears the weight of its own feelings.
What remains primary are the gazes and the naturalness of a body, not perfect according to conventional aesthetic canons, not exposed to pleasure, but bearing witness, in itself, of the entire message, which communicates security and dignity, going beyond mere observation.
The work has a frame 2 cm tall.
With the work will be sent also the certificate of authenticity of an original work.
Jara Marzulli’s works are part of private collections in many parts of the world, public and museum collections such as in Athens, Catania at MacS, in the Pinacoteca of Gaeta and at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera and in Cadiz, Spain. Jara Marzulli
born in Bari and educated at the Bari Art High School and later at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari, graduating with the highest marks; since 1998 she has participated in exhibitions and competitions, immediately receiving recognitions, awards, and important selections.
Her figurative realistic painting style quickly became recognizable, and from 2004 international experiences began through fairs, biennials, and significant exhibitions.
Her art grows and narrates a sense that is at once ecstatic and carnal, made even more incisive and touching by the technical perfection that distinguishes the artist. A lucid and piercing expressive quality, an indefinable purity that clothes itself in painting, a constant play of displacements, of role reversals between the artist who paints and the depicted subject.
Numerous are the prestigious biennials and art exhibitions where she has exhibited in Italy and abroad, such as in Turkey, at the Art Taipei Fair, Taiwan, China at the Red Elation gallery, Hong Kong, at the MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Dublin, at the Maguncia Museum, Buenos Aires in Argentina and in London.
Jara Marzulli’s figures have intense, direct, frontal gazes. They have the dignity of subjects ready to respond with great immediacy. The characters that almost fill the canvas space manage to visually represent men, women, girls and boys who seem to recognize the observer as a stranger, support his gaze, push him away, and distance themselves to defend the silence of their precious inner world.
