This is a classic Goebel M.I. Hummel ceramic figurine. The base bears the blue W.Germany triangular bee logo, indicating it was produced before German reunification and is a vintage, hand-painted porcelain sculpture.
The theme is a school boy, depicting a Bavarian village child carrying a schoolbag and hurrying to school, full of childlike innocence and vitality.
