Zoom binoculars - Solveig - 1950-1960 - Germany - Hertel & Reuss

An unused opera glass is presented, from the Hertel and Reuss company – model Solveig. The opera glass apparently dates from 1950-1960.
Absolutely like new, and with Hertel & Reuss “Solveig” (often also written Solweig) it is a classic, elegant opera glass, or theater glass. It was manufactured by the traditional German optical manufacturer Hertel & Reuss from Kassel. The essentials at a glance
Product type: Compact opera glass (theater field glass).
Manufacturer: Hertel & Reuss (founded 1927 in Kassel, known for high-quality microscopes, binoculars and riflescopes).
Typical magnification: Usually 3.5x magnification (marked 3 ½ x).
Design & variants: The Solveig model is available in various elegant vintage versions. Highly popular are variants with mother-of-pearl inlays, noble gold- or brass accents, and versions in leather or colored piano lacquers (e.g. green or black).
Accessories: Originally usually sold with a color-matched genuine leather case or an elegant pouch. Current value and collector status Since Hertel & Reuss went bankrupt in the mid-1990s, these optical devices are no longer manufactured in their original form and are today sought-after collectibles or popular vintage gifts!
