Description from the seller
My pieces are designed to be companions rather than possessions.
I give my objects organic and animated characteristics, hoping that people grow attached to them as to pets. Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist-designer, a graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He views the durability of an object not only through its materials but above all through the emotional connection it elicits. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that one must care for, keep, and cherish.
Aorta is a chair that awakens the senses.
The veins that traverse and surround it invite touch and interaction. This network of vessels, which runs throughout the structure and extends from it, makes the piece come alive and invites contact with the object.
It is composed of a metal frame covered with clay and plaster.
The piece is functional and equipped with a high seat.
It intentionally features cracks, bearing witness to its artisanal craftsmanship.
