Grundig - Phono Boy design by Mario Bellini Turntable

The Grundig Phono Boy is one of the most iconic portable record players of mid-century modern and industrial design from the 1960s and 1970s.

It was designed by the renowned Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini for the Milan-based company Minerva, which Grundig acquired in 1969, deciding to continue the production of the record player, renaming it Phono Boy but keeping its design intact.

The shell was made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, produced in pop, vibrant colors such as red, yellow, orange, and green, completed by its distinctive chrome-plated steel handle.

The Grundig Boy up for auction is well kept and functioning.

It runs on two flat 4.5-volt batteries.
