Meissen Porcelain - Splendid vessel with fire-gilded bronze mount, Paris, signed GANTLER (c. 1870–1890)
Extraordinary Meissen porcelain object, created circa 1870–1890, richly mounted in its original fire-gilded bronze (mercury gilding) in the elegant Louis XV/Rococo style. Such works were produced for an international luxury audience and are among the finest objects of their time.
The vessel comes from the Meissen porcelain manufactory and features fine figural painting as well as decorative borders. The execution is clean, balanced, and of very high quality.
• Underglaze blue swords mark
• Dating: c. 1870–1890
• Condition: excellent preservation, no damage, no restorations
The original bronze mount is fire-gilded and bears the impressed signature “GANTLER,” a Parisian bronze artisan. Signed mounts are rare and are regarded as a key quality and provenance feature.
