Sankyo vintage metal and brass car decanter set from Japan (c. 1960–1970), includes a patterned glass decanter with cork, six glasses (four clear and two reddish), original parts, weight 5 kg, dimensions 35 × 25 × 14 cm, in very good condition and tested to be working.
Description from the seller
Vintage musical car decanter set. Pieces like this were particularly popular in the 1960s and 1970s and were most often made in Japan (for example, by brands like Tilso).
Key features:
Design: An antique oldtimer car (usually an early Ford Model T or Rolls-Royce-inspired model) made of metal and copper, with the interior lined with red felt or velvet.
Contents: The set includes a patterned glass decanter (drink bottle) with a cork closure, and a set of half-glasses (originally usually 6 pieces) around it.
Musical function:You have to pull up the spare tire in the back, roll it up, and when you take out the bottle to pour a drink, it plays music. It's a very nice piece. We recently had the musical part oiled, and the mechanic showed us that it has a Sankyo mechanism.
I have all six glasses for it, four clear and two in a reddish hue.
There's some very old drink in the bottle, we'll try to mail it that way, but if it doesn't work out, if it's leaking, we'll wash it out and send it.
We can post it carefully packaged, in an insured, registered package.
