Description from the seller
This very nice and enjoyable-to-drive Triumph Spitfire 1500 MK4 US is from 1974. The car was originally new in America, came to the Netherlands in 2001 and therefore has a Dutch registration. Due to its age it is exempt from the APK (periodic vehicle inspection), and also from road tax. Triumph named the color Mimosa Yellow, and this color has now acquired a beautiful patina.
Documents:
The car has a Dutch registration; if desired, for an additional €50 the car can be supplied with an EU-export document so that a foreign buyer can easily register the Triumph.
Bodywork:
Minimal signs of use are present, understandable as it is 52 years old now. See the photos.
It has an older soft top, manually operated (easy to open and close), in reasonable condition; this is really a pampered, good-weather car, where the roof has hardly been used and has sat folded under the tonneau cover. The underside of the car is in very good condition. The paint on the body looks neat, the chrome parts also have some patina, which can be nicely polished if desired, although this patina suits it very well. In short, a very nice car.
Technical:
The car starts immediately; the previous owner did the maintenance himself, has owned the car since 2001, and the car runs well, with various new parts. The tires are in good condition. The gauges on the dashboard work fine.
Interior:
The interior has remained neat; the left door panel could be a bit better secured, and otherwise it looks tidy, with the original Triumph Spitfire Sports Car Club of America plaque.
Transport:
The car is located in Hengevelde, Netherlands and can of course be picked up there. The car can be delivered within the Netherlands for an additional €150 (excluding the Wadden Islands).
The seller can arrange transport to the entire EU relatively cheaply via a professional carrier.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
