AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of Bohemian Überfang vases with engraved hunting scene – ruby red glass – ca. 1900

Description:

Beautiful pair of Bohemian vases rendered in ruby red Überfang glass, produced around 1900.
Executed in the traditional Überfang technique, where a ruby-red glass layer is applied over clear glass and then etched to reveal the detailed hunting scenes. This technique is characteristic of high-quality Bohemian glass circa 1900.

The vases are richly decorated with carefully etched hunting scenes featuring deer in a forest landscape. Through the refined overlay and etching technique, a strong contrast arises between the clear decoration and the deep ruby red background, a hallmark feature of high-quality Bohemian glass from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Both vases have an elegant baluster shape with a softly pleated, wavy lip. The decoration runs around the entire piece and shows various forest views with deer, trees and vegetation.

A decorative and collectible pair that fits perfectly within a collection of Bohemian glass, hunting decor, or art glass from around 1900.

Dimensions:
Height: 22.7 cm
Sold as a pair

Condition:
Good antique condition. One vase shows a small rim nibble/chip at the top edge (see photos). Otherwise normal aging and signs of use appropriate for its age.
