Gilded 875 Silver - Centrepiece - Estonia 1957

Silver basket with a gilded interior, made by the Tallinn Jewelry Factory in 1957 (hallmark “ТФ7”). The rim and swing handle are richly decorated with historicist floral motifs—evoking the great Russian silversmithing tradition of the 19th century, carried forward from the Imperial workshops into Soviet decorative arts. The accompanying oval assay mark denotes the silver fineness (typically .875 for this period).
