Description from the seller
Splendid and authentic antique bedside cabinet from Empire / Carlo X (first half of the 19th century, circa 1820-1840), characterized by an elegant geometric line and great historical charm.
The cabinet is made of walnut wood with a splendid, figured burr walnut veneer on the sides. The front features a single hinged door with original internal solid-wood shelves. The straight uprights are enhanced with refined elements and decorative metal gilt/brass capitals, while the base rests on the characteristic blackened, flattened onion feet, iconic of the period's style.
The top surface is completed by its splendid, contemporaneous original Carrara white veined marble slab, 2 cm thick.
Thanks to its compact and slender dimensions, this piece fits perfectly both as a bedroom bedside cabinet and as an elegant hallway cabinet, coffee table, or lamp stand, integrating beautifully even in modern environments.
Precise dimensions
• Wooden frame: 78 cm (Height) x 39 cm (Width) x 35 cm (Depth)
• Marble top: 41 cm x 35 cm x 2 cm (Thickness)
State of preservation
The cabinet is intact and in its original patina, solid in structure. Being an authentic 19th-century piece, it shows the normal and fascinating signs of time that attest to its authenticity: slight opacification of the original finish on the door, a few superficial scratches on the marble from use, and the absence of the key for the lock.
Ideal for collectors, antique lovers, or for those who want a small piece of history to enhance with a light cleaning or wax.
