Sculpture, Corpus Christi - 11 cm - Gilt bronze

Crucified Christ in cast bronze, with traces of gilding, Italy, late Baroque, end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century (c. 1680-1720).

Figure of Christ rendered with an elongated body and a chest deeply carved, the head inclined and surrounded by a radiating halo; loincloth tied on the right hip with draped, flowing fabric. Original holes in the hands for fastening to a wooden cross (not preserved). Ancient patina, with wear and small oxidations consistent with age.

Devotional work of quality, typical Italian post-Tridentine production.

Dimensions: about 11 x 11 cm
Condition: signs of use, residual gilding, small wear to the feet and arms, otherwise intact.
