Description from the seller
GENERAL:
For sale: a gorgeous so-called 1964½ Ford Mustang Convertible!
This is a Mustang from the first production year, 1964, the year in which the highly successful Mustang was introduced. The car comes from a long-term owner (almost 25 years) and is in very fine condition. The previous owner has kept the car very well and there are even two binders with a lot of information about the past years in terms of maintenance and repairs. A must for the true Mustang enthusiast!
With nice options such as a power top and power steering and of course an automatic transmission, this Mustang offers an authentic and comfortable 1960s driving experience. A highly sought-after classic among collectors and enthusiasts, especially since the car is from the first production year.
Moreover, the car is from California, and this is evident from the rust-free floor pan. Finished in the iconic Wimbledon White color with a nice matching convertible top. This beautiful American classic combines timeless styling with the pure driving feel of a V8 cabriolet.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
The Mustang is in neat body condition, clean and straight, with nice lines. The paint has a beautiful gloss and perfectly emphasizes the elegant curves of this convertible.
As is fitting for a classic of this age, there are here and there small imperfections in the paint.
The car sits on lovely styled steel hubcaps, which fully complement the classic look.
TECHNICAL:
Under the hood lies the reliable 260 cubic inch V8 (F-Code), paired with a smooth-shifting transmission. The Mustang drives as you would expect from a classic V8: powerful, smooth, and with the recognizable deep V8 rumble. Thanks to the power steering, the Mustang is easy to maneuver through city traffic and on the open road.
INTERIOR:
The interior is finished in a very attractive matching blue color and is in very good condition. Of course there are some signs of use, but everything is in very neat and well-kept condition. The seats, door panels and details are stylish and comfortable, fully matching the character of the car.
DOCUMENTS:
Supplied with the necessary documentation for registration within Europe; NL registration.
PICK-UP:
The Ford Mustang can be picked up after the auction in Appingedam. Transport can be arranged by mutual agreement.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This 1964½ Ford Mustang Convertible V8 260 F Code is an honest and characterful classic with power steering, user-friendly PowerTop, and is one of the most sought-after American cabriolets, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts who are looking for driving pleasure, presence and value stability, which can only increase in value

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
