In auction an exceptional and imposing specimen of natural rough ruby from the renowned Mozambican deposits. This piece stands out for its extraordinary weight of 500 carats and for a compact natural morphology that hints at the classic and geometric hexagonal shape typical of well-formed corundum crystals. The sample presents a purplish/pinkish-red color in diffused light, but reveals its extraordinary intensity and strong blood-red fluorescence when backlit or placed on a direct light source, showing a splendid internal color vivacity.
An ideal piece for high-level mineral collectors or as valuable material for cutting and finishing for lapidaries.
