Description from the seller
Gorgeous enameled cast iron Dutch oven Le Creuset No. 30, in the iconic Volcano Orange color, a historic shade that has greatly contributed to the international renown of the French brand.
With its generous lines and the characteristic domed lid, this piece combines vintage aesthetics, craftsmanship, and exceptional cooking performance. Its large, relatively low profile makes it ideal for slow-cooked dishes, braises, vegetables, poultry, stews, or family preparations.
The crème interior enamel is in very good overall condition, retaining a beautiful shine. The visible signs of use remain light and consistent with the piece’s age.
The exterior enamel also presents a very nice appearance with a deep, bright color. Only very light localized chips on the edge of the dish and the lid should be noted, visible in the photographs. These minor flaws do not affect its use or the overall charm of this beautiful antique Dutch oven.
Dimensions
Total length with handles: 37 cm
Interior diameter / length: 29.5 cm
Height without lid: 6.5 cm
Total height with lid: 12 cm
Weight: 6 kg
A Century of Excellence Le Creuset
Founded in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, in the Hauts-de-France region, Le Creuset celebrates its centenary in 2025. For a hundred years, the French manufacturer has produced some of the world's most prestigious enameled cast iron pots.
Each piece is poured individually into its own mold before being enameled through a meticulous artisanal process. This high-quality manufacture explains the exceptional longevity reputation of Le Creuset products, often passed down from generation to generation.
The famous Volcano Orange color, introduced in the early years of production, has become one of the most recognizable symbols in the history of 20th-century culinary design.
Le Creuset cookware is appreciated for:
- their even and gradual heat diffusion;
- their excellent thermal inertia;
- their ability to retain temperature during serving;
- their exceptional durability;
- their compatibility with most heat sources as well as with the oven;
- their remarkable durability that can span multiple generations of use.
Condition
Very good overall condition for this vintage piece.
Interior enamel clean and glossy.
Nice exterior presentation.
Very light enamel chips on some rims of the dish and lid (see photographs).
No impact on functionality.
A beautiful collectible and usable piece, representative of French savoir-faire from Le Creuset, particularly appealing in its iconic Volcano Orange color on the occasion of the brand’s centenary.
Protective and careful shipping.
Best regards.
