Biografía del artista:
Antoni Mut Torroja is a great painter. He was born in Barcelona in 1921, studied at the School of Fine Arts and held his first exhibition in 1940 at the Fayans Català, and in 1947 he moved to Paris where, while attending the Fine Arts school, he worked for Galerie Hervè in Montmartre. During this period he held exhibitions in Reims, Lyon, Toulouse, Paris, Spa, Antwerp and Brussels, as well as murals in Paris and Nice. There he achieved great notoriety.
In 1952 he returned to Barcelona and exhibited at Grifé y Escoda.
He often used anonymous signatures depending on the pictorial style or motifs he used in his works (A. Mut, Antoni Mut, Mut Torroja, T. Bassols) with some of these subjects, for example, the collection of clowns and vagabonds through which he sought to denounce the miseries and frailties of that era. He also gained some renown with landscapes and seascapes. He died in 1990.
