Antique Art Nouveau Lidurn / Decorative Bronze Vase - France ca. 1910–1920
For sale is an exceptionally decorative Art Nouveau urn with lid, made of bronze or bronzed cast metal, presumably of French origin and datable to around 1910–1920.
The artistically designed object impresses with its detailed craftsmanship featuring plastic grapevines, oak leaves and acorns, as well as two striking ring handles in the form of expressive animal heads. The combination of nature-inspired ornaments and symbolic elements is typical of French Art Nouveau at the turn of the century.
The urn rests on a richly ornamented base and appears highly representative both as a standalone piece and within a collection of historic art and decorative objects.
