Bagnanti sugli scogli, an oil on canvas landscape from Spain, dated 1970–1980, original edition, 33 × 46 cm, signed by hand.
Description from the seller
Interesting oil painting on canvas signed “Ocaña”, depicting an evocative scene of bathers gathered along a rocky coast. The work stands out for an impressionist-inspired composition, where light and color take on a predominant role in building the image.
The composition is characterized by a loose, impasto brushwork capable of capturing with immediacy the atmosphere of a summer day at the sea. The figures, only sketched yet effectively defined, integrate harmoniously with the landscape, while the rocks and the water are rendered through a refined play of mauve, pink, blues, and pearl-gray tones.
The artist shows particular sensitivity in rendering reflections on the water and the variations in light, giving the whole a pleasant sense of freshness and spontaneity. The work represents an excellent example of contemporary landscape painting inspired by the Mediterranean, appreciable both for decorative value and for the quality of the painterly execution.
Technique: oil on canvas
Signature: signed “Ocaña” at the bottom left
Support: canvas stretched on a wooden frame
Conditions: good overall state of conservation, with slight signs of aging compatible with age and use
Dimensions: to be specified
A work of pleasant visual impact, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts of marine landscapes and contemporary impressionist painting.
