Description from the seller

Pharmacy vase "Scavo" in Murano art glass – 1970s

Fascinating pharmacy vase, made entirely by hand in Murano in the seventies, expression of Venetian glass tradition and the mastery of its artisans. The characteristic hollowing technique called scavo gives the work the evocative look of an ancient artifact, enhancing its charm and timeless character.

The glass, in delicate ivory hues with subtle golden tones, is enriched by refined hand decorations that frame the central inscription with elegance and sophistication. The lid, finished with an original lemon-shaped knob also made by hand, lends further personality to this extraordinary decorative object.

The light irregularities of the surface and the natural variations in the decorations attest to the authenticity of the craftsmanship, making each piece unique and unrepeatable.

A piece of great charm, ideal for enriching both classic and contemporary environments, perfect as a collectible object as well as an important furnishing element.

Dimensions: approximately 40 × 15 cm
Era: 1970s
Material: Murano art glass
Finish: hollowed effect with hand-applied gold decorations
Craftsmanship: entirely handmade by the Murano master glassmakers
Use: decorative and highly valuable collectible object.

Seller's Story

I was born and raised on the island of Murano, where glass is not simply a material, but a tradition that is lived every day. Since childhood I breathed in the warmth of the furnaces and watched the master glassmakers transform incandescent matter into shapes, colors and light. C growing up in Murano means learning early to recognize the value of true artistic glass: weight, transparency, murrine, the small imperfections that make each piece unique. This knowledge, developed in a family and artisanal setting, today allows me to select only authentic works, handmade on the island according to traditional techniques. Each creation I present – vases, sculptures, decorative objects and lamps – is born from entirely manual work, without industrial molds. Color, shape and texture variations are not defects, but the signature of the artisan who made each single piece. All works come with a certificate of authenticity, guaranteeing their origin and quality. My objective is to offer not mere objects, but authentic fragments of Murano’s history, destined to endure over time and to bring into my clients’ homes the beauty and value of Venetian craftsmanship.
