Enrico Sciaulino presents Versione pubblica in oil on canvas, an original 2026 work measuring 90 by 60 cm, signed and in excellent condition, depicting a nude figure with a green mask-like face and a tie, created in Italy and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Title: Public Version
Artist: Enrico Sciaulino
Medium: Oil on canvas
Description of the work
Public Version explores the relationship between personal identity and social role through the depiction of a figure suspended between exposure and concealment. The green face, mask-like, becomes the symbol of the images we construct and show to others to be accepted, recognized or protected.
The nudity of the body enters into contrast with the presence of the mask and the tie, elements that recall respectively the fragility of the individual and the conventions imposed by society. The work suggests how every public identity is, in part, a construction: a surface behind which remain vulnerabilities, doubts and more authentic aspects of the person.
Open hands emphasize the sense of exposure and disarmament, while the dark background isolates the figure in a suspended psychological space, inviting the observer to reflect on the boundary between what we are and what we choose to show.
Through a contemporary figurative language, the work addresses universal themes such as self-perception, social pressure and the ongoing search for authenticity in a reality dominated by appearances.
