Ceretto Barolo 2021, three 0.75 L bottles from Barolo, Italy.
Description from the seller
Description of the Lot and the Cellar
The Barolo from the historic Ceretto winery is one of the indispensable pillars of Piedmont wine, a world-renowned label that combines prestige, environmental respect, and an unmistakable style. Founded in Alba in the 1930s, the Ceretto family was a pioneer in enhancing the individual terroirs of the Langhe. Since 2015, the entire production has obtained official organic certification, testifying to a tailored and sustainable approach in the vineyard.
Vintage 2021 is already regarded by international critics as a legendary year for the Langhe: a snowy winter followed by a long, cool and steady growing season, which allowed Nebbiolo to develop superb phenolic complexity. Ceretto's classic Barolo is born from a skilled blend of vineyards located in different subzones of the denomination (including Serralunga d'Alba and La Morra), finding the perfect balance between the vigorous structure of the chalky soil and the silkiness typical of the sandier soils. Vinified in steel and aged for about 24 months in oak barrels, it is a wine of innate elegance, depth, and millimetric precision.
Tasting Notes
Color: Bright, clear ruby red, with fine, noble garnet reflections.
Nose: The bouquet is incredibly fragrant and airy. It opens with crisp aromas of red berries, raspberries, cherries, and rhubarb. With aeration, elegant floral notes of rose and dried violet emerge, hints of dried herbs, licorice, tobacco, and a refined balsamic and mineral touch.
Palate: On the palate it impresses with a perfect balance between richness and drinkability. The mouthfeel is taut and dynamic, sustained by a refreshing acidic edge and a dense tannin texture that is solid yet already extraordinarily silky and evolved. The finish is very long, clean, and persistent, with echoes of cherry and dark spices.
Storage Condition
Perfect bottles for collecting: intact labels, original capsules, and neck-level fills. Kept since purchase in a private underground cellar at constant temperature and humidity, away from light and vibrations.
Critics’ Scores (Vintage 2021)

Falstaff: 94 / 100 ("Very fragrant and inviting nose that impresses with its clarity... Soft tannins and excellent glide")
