Six hand-painted maiolica plates attributed to Lodi in Lombardy, in the antique Lodigiano floral style with roses, tulips and field flowers in pink, yellow, blue and green on a white tin-glaze, dating ca. 1750–1800, each about 24 cm in diameter with later metal wall mounts.
Description from the seller
Six-piece set of hand-painted tin-glazed plates from maiolica, attributed to Lodi (Lombardy), decorated in the characteristic Lodigiano floral style with clusters of roses, tulips, and wildflowers in shades of pink, yellow, blue, and green on white tin-glazed enamel.
The group features wavy, molded shapes typical of Northern Italian productions of the 18th century.
The plates display metal mounts applied later for wall display, in keeping with decorative practice widespread in the homes of Northern Italy.
According to family tradition, the set remained on display for decades in the dining room of a noble Piedmontese residence.
The attribution to Lodi is proposed on the basis of stylistic and decorative characteristics, as well as the presence of a small antique label bearing the inscription "piatto piccolo Lodi". Dating is proposed as an estimate based on stylistic and technical analysis.
Conditions: excellent conservational state given the age. There are crazing, firing marks, and kiln pinpricks compatible with ancient production. No chips, cracks, or restorations observed. The set has been kept for a long time as a decorative wall display. Please examine carefully all photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
Dimensions: approximately 24 cm in diameter each.
Shipping: professional packaging with individual protection for each plate.
