Beautiful antique enameled cast-iron casserole from the famous Cousances house, an iconic French brand bought by Le Creuset in 1957. Considered by many collectors as the top-of-the-line of the era, Cousances was renowned for the exceptional quality of its cast iron, its elegant shapes and meticulous finishes.
Model No. 18 with its original lid, in a metallic gray finish and cream enamel interior. Ideal for sauces, vegetables, soups, and small slow-simmered dishes.
This piece shows some signs of use consistent with its age (see photos), but remains in good overall condition and perfectly usable.
