Kosta Boda - Ann Wärff - Candleholder (3) - Crystal

Set of three “Snowball” crystal candle holders by Kosta Boda, designed by renowned Swedish artist and sculptor Ann Wärff in 1973.

The Snowball (Snöboll) series has become one of Kosta Boda’s most iconic designs. The distinctive frosted and textured surface was born from Ann Wärff’s experimental work with hot glass. According to the well-known story behind the design, molten glass was blown directly into snow, creating a unique irregular texture reminiscent of freshly packed snow and ice. When illuminated with a tealight candle, the glass softly diffuses the light, creating the warm atmosphere of a traditional Scandinavian snow lantern.

The lot consists of three candle holders of different sizes. One candle holder is accompanied by its original Kosta Boda box.

Condition: excellent. All three candle holders are free from chips, cracks, and visible scratches. The crystal remains bright and well preserved.

Their sculptural form and distinctive texture make them highly decorative both with and without candles.
